Overview
Looking for someone to handle Accounts Receivable & Payable for this small business. You'll play a vital role in managing the client's financial transactions with precision and efficiency. This position offers the opportunity to work with our Bookkeeper who has been in the business for 20+ years, and gain hands on experience if you are new to accounting. Your ability to learn details will help maintain the integrity of our financial data, support compliance with accounting standards, and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization. Duties
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions through data entry and ensure accurate recording, reconciliation, and reporting of accounts while handling confidential information securely.
- Manage accounts receivable processes including invoice generation, customer account analysis, and collections to ensure timely payments.
- Perform account reconciliations for general ledger accounts, balance sheets, and subsidiary ledgers using the QuickBooks accounting software.
- Accounts payable by processing vendor invoices, verifying expense coding, and executing payments via accounts payable program.
- Utilize Excel data analysis skills for reporting, variance analysis, and supporting audit requests; prepare detailed spreadsheets for management review.
- Collaborate with others on the team regarding budgeting, credit analysis, and financial concepts to support organizational goals and ensure adherence to governmental accounting standards when applicable.
Qualifications
- Have experience in accounting or finance roles with a focus on accounts receivable and payable management.
- Will also accept students in an accounting program, or those with no accounting experience.
- Strong ability to learn accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Strongroom, Enumerate, Excel, and Google Sheets/Docs.
- Excellent numeracy skills combined with attention to detail for accurate account reconciliation and journal entries.
- Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while providing exceptional customer service to vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
