Job Title - Phlebotomist
Location - Tulsa, OK
Duration - 13 Weeks
Shift - 5*8's Days
Weekly Hours - 40 Hour
Job Duties
- Perform blood draws (venipuncture) using straight needles and butterfly needles
- Explain specimen collection procedures (blood, urine, fecal) to patients in a clear and courteous manner
- Verify and understand physician orders before specimen collection
- Match laboratory requisition forms with specimen tubes to ensure accuracy
- Label specimens correctly and ensure 100% accuracy against test requisitions or computer labels
- Collect and store specimens following established procedures and protocols
- Centrifuge, split, freeze, and process specimens as required by specific test orders
- Maintain specimen integrity by following proper handling, storage temperatures, and transport procedures
- Package specimens securely for transport to laboratories
- Update patient information and maintain accurate records
- Record maintenance data and perform decontamination as required
- Place specimens in appropriate containers/tubes as per testing requirements
Requirements
- 1+ years of working experience in phlebotomy
