1. Travel to and participate in various resource management meetings, serving as the liaison between TCC Member Tribes and federal/state agencies, and communicating relevant information back to Tribes and TCC.
2. Analyze, review, and summarize management proposals, hunting and fishing regulation changes, harvest methodology, and cooperative management initiatives, preparing written memos and working with TRS team to develop recommendations for Tribes and TCC.
3. Provide (group and one-on-one) training sessions to promote local engagement and input in resource management meetings and decisions.
4. Assist the TRS Director & Policy Analyst with development and implementation of research priorities and advocacy priorities.
5. Coordinate education and outreach to Tribes when permits, proposals, or regulations solicit tribal comments, including facilitating dates for Tribal consultation, developing talking points, and providing technical assistance to support the sharing of cultural resources and traditional knowledge. Support NEPA (National Environmental Policy Act) outreach, documentation and contact in partnership with federal & state partners.
6. Review the scientific basis for proposed policies and identifying where Tribal traditional knowledge should be incorporated.
7. Maintain confidentiality of decisions, strategy, actions and recommendations for TRS priorities.
8. Travel to attend meetings on behalf of TRS programs, including providing oral presentations on program outcomes as requested. Engage with partners, and members of the public in a respectful manner to share messaging and priorities and continue to further the relationship.
