Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) / Staff Pharmacist – Houston, TX
Equity Staffing Group is seeking a Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) / Staff Pharmacist for an interim opportunity at a behavioral health facility in Houston, TX. This position will start ASAP and continue until a permanent pharmacist is hired.
Location: Cypress Creek – 17750 Cali Drive, Houston, TX 77090
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Start: ASAP
Texas Pharmacist License Required
Schedule & Coverage
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
- Weekend coverage, 8:00 AM–2:30 PM, may occasionally be required if PRN coverage is unavailable.
- On-call coverage may be needed for coverage gaps.
- Half-day training/orientation prior to starting.
Facility
- 128 licensed beds
- Average daily census: 103
- Specialty: Behavioral Health/Psychiatric
- Pharmacy system: HCS – training provided
- Support staff includes 2 Pharmacy Technicians and 3 PRN Pharmacists
Responsibilities
- Serve as Pharmacist in Charge and provide daily pharmacist staffing coverage.
- Oversee safe and accurate medication dispensing.
- Support pharmacy technicians and daily pharmacy workflow.
- Ensure compliance with Texas pharmacy regulations and facility policies.
- Review medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness.
- Maintain pharmacy documentation and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with clinical and hospital staff to support patient care.
Requirements
- Active Texas Pharmacist license required.
- Pharmacist experience; behavioral health/psychiatric experience is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and provide leadership within the pharmacy.
Dress Code
Business casual or scrubs of any color.
Candidates must complete required pre-employment credentials, including background check, drug screen, license verification, TB screening, HIPAA and facility compliance requirements.

Pay: $65.00 - $70.00 per hour
