Overview
We are seeking talented and experienced Baker/Cake Decorators. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for creativity, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of bakery operations in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. This role will be responsible for decorating cakes, conceptual baking, maintaining visual and quality standards, managing production schedules, and working closely with staff to ensure consistency and excellence across all bakery offerings.
Cake Decorating
- Design and decorate cakes, pastries, and desserts according to franchise and customer standards
- Assist with seasonal and promotional cake design planning
- Ensure product consistency, portioning, and visual appeal
- Work directly with cake manager to ensure quality
Baking Operations
- Assist with daily production of breads, pastries, and baked goods
- Prepare doughs, batters, and fillings following franchise recipes
- Ensure proper proofing, baking, and cooling techniques
- Maintain daily baking schedules and inventory needs
- Manage oven and equipment use for efficient production
Qualifications:
- Experience in cake decorating and baking
- Strong skills in piping, sponge, mousse, and finishing work
- Experience in managing bakery production schedules
- Ability to work well with team and senior staff
- Familiarity with commercial bakery equipment and food safety procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and time management
- Ability to work early mornings or weekends as needed
- Franchise or branded bakery experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure all food production meets quality standards for taste, presentation, and consistency.
- Handle food safely and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen at all times.
- Package finished products for display or catering orders.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of ingredients and supplies.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding to inquiries about menu items and accommodating special requests.
Skills
- Proficient in food production techniques, particularly in baking and pastry preparation.
- Strong knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
- Previous experience in catering or high-volume kitchen settings is preferred but not required.
