Responsibilities
- Assess vehicle damage thoroughly to determine the necessary repair procedures, including auto body repair, dent removal, and structural realignment
- Use welding, soldering, and automotive welding equipment to repair or replace sheet metal components with accuracy and safety
- Fabricate custom parts and repair techniques utilizing sheet metal fabrication skills and automotive structural repair knowledge
- Operate hand tools, power tools, sanding tools, and airless paint spraying equipment to prepare surfaces for refinishing and auto painting
- Perform auto glass installation, automotive parts replacement, and detailed cosmetic repairs to restore vehicles’ appearance
- Apply automotive body refinishing techniques including sanding, priming, painting, and polishing to achieve a flawless finish
- Conduct vehicle maintenance tasks such as auto restoration projects or assembly work while adhering to safety standards
- Collaborate with team members on auto estimating and customer service processes to ensure clear communication about repair scope and timelines
Skills
- Proven dealership experience or extensive background working as an automotive body technician
- Proficiency in MIG welding, welding repair, soldering, and fabrication repair techniques
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to automotive parts installation, vehicle maintenance, and structural repairs
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, sanding tools, automotive welding equipment, and auto painting systems
- Experience with auto restoration projects and automotive cosmetic repair methods
- Knowledge of sheet metal work, auto body refinishing processes, and automotive dent repair techniques
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail in all aspects of vehicle repair
- Excellent customer service skills combined with auto estimating capabilities for accurate assessments of repairs needed
