Job Description
Americas Gold & Silver is seeking a skilled and experienced Manual Machinist to join our team at Mine Fab in Kellogg, Idaho. This hands-on role is responsible for machining, repairing, and fabricating precision components and equipment used in mining and industrial operations. The successful candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while supporting maintenance and fabrication teams in a safe and productive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate manual machining equipment including lathes, mills, drill presses, and grinders.
- Machine and fabricate precision parts, shafts, bushings, pins, and custom components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and machining specifications.
- Perform equipment repairs and modifications to support mining and industrial operations.
- Measure and inspect finished components using precision measuring tools to ensure accuracy and tolerances are met.
- Set up and align machines, tooling, and workpieces for machining operations.
- Troubleshoot machining and equipment issues to maintain efficient production.
- Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
- Collaborate with welders, mechanics, and maintenance personnel on repair and fabrication projects.
- Follow all company safety procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
- Required: High school diploma or GED.
- Required: Minimum of five (5) years of manual machining experience in industrial, manufacturing, or mining environments.
- Proficiency operating manual lathes, milling machines, and precision measuring instruments.
- Strong understanding of machining principles, tolerances, and metal properties.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience fabricating and repairing heavy industrial equipment components preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- MSHA certification or willingness to obtain preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
