SUMMARY AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provides strategic leadership and direction for all human resources (HR) functions for a rural Critical Access Hospital. Partners with senior leadership to develop and implement HR strategies that support organizational goals, workforce sustainability, and a high-performing culture aligned with organizational mission and values.
This role oversees HR operations for the organization ensuring consistency, compliance, and operational excellence in all aspects of human resources.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serves as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on workforce planning, organizational design, and culture.

Develops and implements HR strategies that align with organizational priorities, including patient care, employee engagement, and operational performance.

Leads workforce planning initiatives to address recruitment, retention, and succession planning, with a focus on rural healthcare challenges.

Partners with clinical and operational leaders to support recruitment of physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing, and allied health staff.

Oversee employee relations, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and practices.

Directs the design and administration of compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness within the regional healthcare market.

Ensures compliance with federal and state employment laws and healthcare regulatory requirements (e.g., CMS, Joint Commission).

Leads leadership development, performance management, and organizational development initiatives.

Oversee HR operations, including HR'S, reporting, and data analytics to support decision-making.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.

Master's degree (MBA, MHA, or related field) preferred.
Experience:

Minimum of 10 years of progressive human resources experience required.

Minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role required.

Healthcare experience required; experience in a multi-site or integrated health system preferred.

Experience supporting provider recruitment and workforce strategy strongly preferred.
Licensure/Certifications

SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent certification preferred.
