Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and motivated contract Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various locations while ensuring timely deliveries. This role requires a strong focus on customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to handle physical demands associated with loading, unloading and installing products such as large appliances, furniture and patio sets.
Duties
- Operate delivery vehicles in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Load and unload products from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Navigate assigned routes effectively, managing time efficiently to meet delivery schedules.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety standards are met.
- Communicate with warehouse staff regarding product availability and delivery issues.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including signatures and any discrepancies encountered during transport.
- Assist with warehouse duties as needed, including inventory management and organization of goods.
- Must be able to lift and move 50+ pounds up and down a flight of stairs.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial driving experience is preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and moving tasks as required during loading and unloading processes.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deliveries efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
- Previous experience in route driving or delivery services is highly desirable.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings or late evenings as needed.
