Job Summary
Reports to: Shop Manager
This is an entry-level position responsible for assisting senior technicians in the inspection, cleaning, light repair, and maintenance of radiators, charge air coolers, and other heat exchange components for industrial equipment. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, has strong attention to detail, and is a diligent learner committed to safety and quality workmanship.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with cooling system diagnostics: Help senior technicians inspect and pressure-test radiators and other cooling components to identify leaks and blockages.
- Perform cleaning and servicing: Flush and clean radiators using rods, chemical baths, or high-pressure washers to remove rust, mineral deposits, and other debris.
- Conduct basic repairs: Support the team in fundamental repair tasks, such as removing and replacing gaskets, hoses, and other components.
- Cooler finning and painting.
- Perform all steps of DPF cleaning
- Maintain a safe and organized workspace: Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and tidy workstation, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly cared for.
- Provide support and teamwork: Assist fellow team members with manual tasks, including lifting and moving heavy parts, and communicate effectively with colleagues.
- Complete documentation: Fill out service records and work orders accurately under supervision.
Qualifications and Skills
- Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand and power tools
- Ability to read and interpret basic repair instructions or diagrams
- Ability to lift heavy equipment (50-100 lbs frequently), stand for extended periods, and perform demanding physical tasks safely
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- A valid driver's license may be required
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and technologies
Work Environment
- The work is performed in a workshop environment with exposure to noise, fumes, chemicals, and mechanical hazards
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times
- The position may require work in confined spaces or at heights
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
