Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, providing exceptional customer service throughout their visit.
- Assess customer needs by discussing vehicle issues and recommending appropriate services or repairs.
- Create detailed work orders for technicians, including accurate descriptions of the services required.
- Utilize auto estimating software to provide cost estimates for repairs and maintenance services.
- Maintain knowledge of diesel engine repair, tire service, oil changes, and other vehicle maintenance tasks to assist customers effectively.
- Collaborate with mechanics to ensure timely completion of services while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Follow up with customers regarding service updates, completion times, and any additional recommendations based on vehicle condition.
- Handle customer inquiries and concerns professionally, ensuring a positive experience for all clients.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Service Writer or in a similar role within the automotive industry is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in areas such as auto body repair, diesel engine repair, tire service, and general vehicle maintenance.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service and sales abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proficient in using computer systems for estimating and tracking service orders.
- A passion for the automotive industry with a desire to learn and grow within the field.
- Experience using Mitchell Teamworks is a plus.
