Factory Production Worker

Reports To: Manufacturing Supervisor / Manufacturing Operations Manager
Position Summary
The Factory Worker is a cross-trained manufacturing team member responsible for supporting multiple production processes throughout the facility. Employees are expected to safely manufacture, assemble, inspect, package, and handle structural insulated panel (SCIP) components and related products while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
FSS values versatility and teamwork. Employees are expected to develop proficiency in multiple workstations and may be assigned to different manufacturing areas based on production schedules, staffing needs, and business priorities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate manufacturing equipment in accordance with established procedures and safety standards.
- Manufacture, assemble, and process SCIP panels and related building components.
- Cross-train on multiple manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Rotate between workstations as directed to meet production requirements.
- Load, unload, move, and stage materials using approved equipment when properly trained and authorized.
- Measure, inspect, and verify products meet company quality standards.
- Report equipment issues, quality concerns, or safety hazards immediately.
- Stack, package, band, and prepare finished products for shipment.
- Assist with machine setup, changeovers, cleaning, and basic preventative maintenance.
- Complete production records and other required documentation accurately.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and required PPE guidelines.
- Assist other departments as needed to support production goals.
- Participate in ongoing training to develop additional manufacturing skills.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Manufacturing, construction, or industrial experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull throughout the workday.
- Ability to safely perform repetitive manual tasks.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, dust, noise, and moving equipment.

Work Environment
This position works in a fast-paced manufacturing facility producing structural building components. Employees should expect to work around manufacturing equipment, forklifts, overhead lifting devices, welding operations, and construction materials while following all established safety procedures.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
