Position Description
The Upper School Math Teacher is responsible for teaching mathematics courses to students in grades 9–12 while creating an engaging classroom environment that promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, and academic growth. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong instructional practices, effective classroom management, and a commitment to integrating biblical truth throughout the learning experience.
Responsibilities
- Teach high school mathematics courses assigned by administration (Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, or other courses as needed)
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with school curriculum and school standards
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Assess student learning through quizzes, tests, projects, and classroom activities
- Maintain accurate grades and communicate student progress with parents and administration
- Foster a positive, organized, and Christ-centered classroom environment
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
- Support the spiritual, academic, and personal growth of students
- Collaborate with fellow faculty members to strengthen the Upper School program
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a closely related field (required)
- Must obtain FACCS Teacher Certification within the timeline established by Liberty Christian Preparatory School
- Previous classroom teaching experience preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to integrate biblical principles into instruction
- A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and agreement with the mission and Statement of Faith of Liberty Christian Preparatory School
- Must successfully complete a Level II background screening
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching multiple levels of high school mathematics
- Familiarity with Google Classroom and educational technology
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and families
- Passion for mentoring and encouraging students both academically and spiritually
Pay: $45,000.00 - $47,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
