Summary:
Seeking a hands-on Facilities Manager to lead all maintenance, utilities, and facility operations within a food manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, plant safety, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives while supporting production goals. The position oversees a team of maintenance and facilities personnel, manages projects, budgets, contractors, and capital improvements, and works closely with plant leadership. This is a highly visible leadership role that requires daily engagement on the production floor and a proactive approach to minimizing downtime and driving plant performance.
Key Requirements:
- Lead maintenance, utilities, refrigeration, and facility operations while ensuring safety, quality, and production objectives are met.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
- Manage direct reports, contractors, budgets, capital projects, and regulatory compliance with OSHA, EPA, USDA, and other applicable standards.
Qualifications:
- 5–7+ years of maintenance, facilities, or utilities management experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably food manufacturing.
- Strong project management, contractor management, and troubleshooting/problem-solving skills.
- Experience with meat processing, vacuum packaging, high-pressure boiler operations (NJ Black Seal License preferred or willingness to obtain), and bilingual English/Spanish skills are highly desirable.
