Events Manager, Private Club
Position Summary
Red Tail Golf Club in Avon, Ohio is seeking an experienced Events Manager, who will be responsible for coordinating banquets and events, including sales, planning, and execution. Note: This is a hands-on, working management position. If you are looking to be an event planner who does not manage the events, or prefer to work from home, you need not apply.
This position works in conjunction with the Food & Beverage Director, Executive Chef and Front of House Manager and reports directly to the Food & Beverage Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Meets and plans catering events with clients while effectively communicating all information to operational staff for proficient execution of each event.
· Running weekly BEO (Banquet Event Order) meeting, informing all necessary departments of any updates or changes.
· Prepares in advance and distributes all banquet events orders, specifications and validates that all contractual obligations are fulfilled prior to the event.
· Ensures that the service staff provides immediate and proper attention to the demands of each catering contract and/or member request.
· Creates and maintain a good relationship with all members, staff members and managers by creating an atmosphere of friendly cooperation.
· Promotes the Club to membership for catering events.
· Prepares event quotes and completes final billings as well as post-event follow-ups.
· Perform any other job-related duties as requested and to include assisting dining outlets and other departments as needed.
Requirements:
· Previous FOH experience.
· Two years’ event management experience.
· Two years’ catering sales or food & beverage management.
· Time management skills required.
· Excellent communications skills: written and verbal required. Able to effectively communicate with internal teams as well as with members.
· Minimum one-year supervisory experience. Must be able to lead and delegate work.
· Attention to detail.
· Good interpersonal relations and possessing skillful listening techniques that will aid in the interpretation of the client’s wants and needs.
· Must be proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook
· Knowledge of F&B preparation techniques, health department rules and regulations, liquor laws and regulations are helpful.
· Must be willing to work varied hours including holidays and weekends as well as overtime as needed. Work location is on property.
· Professional attire, grooming and appearance a must.
