POSITION OVERVIEW
We are a Platinum-level Crestron dealer — among the top 20 worldwide — and a Lutron Diamond Dealer, delivering sophisticated smart home and AV systems to luxury residences throughout the Tri-State area. We're seeking a Systems Engineer / Estimator to join our team. This is not a traditional estimating role: you will function as both engineer and estimator, reviewing project designs, engineering complete AV and lighting systems, and preventing costly mistakes before projects ever break ground.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
▸ System Engineering: Review project designs and engineer complete, correctly specified AV, lighting, and network systems.
▸ Equipment Verification: Verify equipment compatibility and properly size systems to match project requirements.
▸ Proposals & Pricing: Produce detailed proposals and prepare accurate pricing using Microsoft Word and Excel — our proposals are highly customized rather than template-driven.
▸ Documentation: Write clear, precise equipment descriptions for client-facing proposal documents.
▸ Quality Control: Catch and correct engineering issues before installation — for example, undersized amplifiers, missing I/O cards, or incorrect hardware selections.
▸ Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with the design, sales, and project management teams to ensure engineering accuracy from proposal through handoff.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
▸ Strong technical understanding of Crestron, NVX, amplifiers, signal flow, audio design, video distribution, lighting systems, networking, and system architecture.
▸ Engineering, system design, or estimating background within AV integration.
▸ 5–15+ years of experience in luxury residential integration strongly preferred.
▸ Stable work history with long tenure at previous employers — we invest heavily in training and are looking for a long-term team member, not a short-term stop.
▸ Ability to identify engineering problems before they become installation issues.
▸ Strong written communication skills for producing polished, client-ready proposals.
▸ Client-facing professionalism and comfort working with a discerning, high-end clientele.
WHAT WE OFFER
▸ Day-One Benefits: Medical insurance, company vehicle, company phone, laptop, and company credit card — all from day one, with no waiting period.
▸ Healthcare: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage through Insperity (PEO), comparable to Fortune 500 companies — plus travel, cell phone, and rental car discounts.
▸ 401(k): Eligible after one year, with a 4% company match and immediate vesting — no vesting schedule.
▸ Travel Support: Company vehicle and credit card, hotel stays, meals, and a $150/night overnight bonus for Hamptons-area projects — you'll never need to use a personal vehicle.
▸ Professional Development: Ongoing support for professional certifications and continuing education.
