Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Assist with menu planning by preparing ingredients and suggesting improvements based on culinary best practices.
- Follow strict safety standards during food production, handling, and storage to maintain a safe working environment.
- Handle food with care, adhering to proper food safety management protocols to prevent contamination.
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food, setting up serving stations, and assisting with presentation.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment in compliance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and dietary aides to ensure timely meal preparation and service delivery.
Skills
- Proven experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles, demonstrating knowledge of special dietary needs.
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food service within restaurant or food industry settings.
- Excellent knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and ingredient portioning.
- Knowledge of safety standards in production environments and proper food handling procedures.
- Experience in menu planning, meal preparation, and catering operations.
- Familiarity with food safety management systems and adherence to hygiene protocols.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
