Duties
- Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and executing personalized care plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
- Provide hands-on therapy techniques such as trigger point therapy and physiotherapy interventions to facilitate pain relief and mobility improvement.
- Monitor patient progress, document treatment sessions accurately, and communicate updates to the healthcare team.
- Support discharge planning by preparing patients for transition to home or other care settings through education and follow-up instructions.
- Conduct patient care activities across various settings including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, home health visits, and skilled nursing facilities.
- Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and orthopedics to ensure safe and effective therapy sessions.
- Assist with specialized treatments such as trigger point therapy and other manual techniques to optimize patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Valid certification or licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in accordance with state regulations.
- Proven experience working in inpatient settings, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, or home health environments.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and physiotherapy practices.
- Experience with care planning for diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, and acute care patients.
- Familiarity with discharge planning processes and documentation standards.
- Ability to perform skilled nursing tasks and support patient care activities effectively.
