Job Overview

Duties
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen tools in accordance with food safety sanitizing procedures
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic ingredient handling and setup for meal service
- Support bussing activities by clearing tables and transporting dirty dishware to the dishwashing station
- Maintain strict sanitation standards by regularly cleaning work areas, sinks, and kitchen surfaces in compliance with health regulations
- Handle manual lifting of heavy items such as large pots, crates of supplies, and bulk dishware safely and efficiently
- Follow all kitchen health and safety standards to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment
- Operate kitchen equipment responsibly while adhering to food safety management practices
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is highly valued
- Knowledge of food handling procedures, sanitation practices, and kitchen safety standards
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting with proper technique
- Familiarity with operating commercial dishwashing machines and basic kitchen equipment is a plus
- Strong attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and organization within the kitchen area
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting colleagues in a fast-paced setting
- Prior experience with banquet or catering service is advantageous but not mandatory
