Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Construction Laborer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting various construction projects by performing physically demanding tasks, assisting skilled tradespeople, and ensuring the smooth progress of site development activities. Duties
- Assist with the preparation of construction sites, including unloading materials and setting up work areas
- Assist with installation of storm drainage, sanitary sewer, and water distribution systems.
- Install erosion and sediment control devices including silt fence, inlet protection, check dams, and temporary stabilization measures;
- Perform trenching, backfilling, hand grading, and compaction operations;
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to follow precise instructions for construction plans
- Perform heavy lifting and material handling while adhering to workplace safety regulations
- Follow all construction site safety protocols diligently to maintain a secure work environment
Qualifications
- Prior experience working on construction projects or in a related trade environment preferred but not required
- Mechanical knowledge and familiarity with construction estimating are advantageous
- Knowledge of construction workplace safety regulations is essential
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting, standing for long periods, and working in various weather conditions
- Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude towards learning new skills and safety practices
- Valid driver’s license for commercial driving or operating heavy equipment is a plus
