Repair Shop Coordinator

Position Summary
Superior Industrial Equipment, LLC is seeking a highly organized and mechanically inclined Repair Shop Coordinator to join our team in Sycamore, Illinois. This role serves as the primary point of coordination for repair projects from initial equipment intake through final invoicing. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects while providing outstanding customer service.
Essential Responsibilities
- Receive and inspect incoming equipment for repair and create complete repair files.
- Review technician inspection and disassembly reports to evaluate equipment condition.
- Prepare detailed repair quotations for customers based on inspection findings.
- Coordinate the procurement of replacement parts and repair components.
- Maintain regular communication with customers regarding repair status, schedules, and approvals.
- Coordinate services with outside vendors and subcontractors as required.
- Collaborate with sales, service technicians, customer service, purchasing, and management to ensure efficient project execution.
- Manage repair job costing and documentation from project initiation through completion.
- Assist with reverse engineering of parts and components when required.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other inspection equipment.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance repair processes, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and repair documentation.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Ability to manage multiple repair projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Preferred
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Technology, Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
- Previous experience coordinating industrial equipment repairs or working in a rotating equipment, pump, compressor, or machinery repair environment.
- Experience with reverse engineering mechanical components.
- CAD experience.
- Experience working with ERP or shop management software.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in both office and shop environments.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb as needed while inspecting equipment.
- Ability to safely work around industrial machinery and equipment.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
