Job Title: Medical Front Office Receptionist
Position Summary:
The Medical Front Office Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors. This role is responsible for providing excellent customer service, managing front desk operations, and supporting the daily administrative functions of the medical office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner
- Answer incoming phone calls, route calls appropriately, and take accurate messages
- Schedule, confirm, and update patient appointments
- Verify patient demographic and insurance information accurately
- Check patients in and out efficiently
- Collect co-pays and outstanding balances when applicable
- Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Ensure front desk area is organized and presentable
- Communicate effectively with clinical staff regarding patient flow and scheduling needs
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in a medical office or front desk role preferred
- Knowledge of medical scheduling and insurance verification processes
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
