Duties
- Safely load, unload, and secure furniture items using appropriate equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
- Drive commercial box trucks or similar vehicles on scheduled routes to deliver furniture efficiently and on time
- Assist customers with their furniture needs during delivery, providing excellent customer service and answering questions professionally
- Scheduling deliveries based on need, distance, and time needed
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety standards are met
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and inventory records
- Load and organize trucks for optimal delivery efficiency, ensuring proper handling of all items to prevent damage
- Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during route driving and deliveries
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, courier, or warehouse worker with a focus on moving heavy items
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred but not required
- Experience operating box trucks or similar commercial vehicles with manual transmission is highly desirable
- Ability to lift heavy furniture items repeatedly throughout the day; physical strength and stamina are essential
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks; certification is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional attitude
- Excellent route driving skills with knowledge of local roads and traffic regulations
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing schedules
