Shipping and Receiving Dockhand – Lewis Lumber and Milling
The Shipping and Receiving Dockhand at Lewis Lumber and Milling plays a key role in keeping materials and finished goods moving through the mill. This position supports shipping, receiving, inventory, and production needs while helping maintain a safe and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Strapping materials to runners and pallets using a battery powered bander.
· Packaging shipments for LTL loads (plastic wrap, cardboard, toppers, etc.)
· Covering truckload orders in plastic wrap once loaded on the truck
· Using a pallet jack to assist loading enclosed trailers as needed
· Assisting the unloading of plywood trucks (stapling tags, placing runners, etc)
· Maintaining the cleanliness of the dock in between order staging
· Using miter saw to cut spacers and runners
· Breaking down units to match customer orders (involves moving bundles up to 95 pounds)
Basic algebra skills required as well as the ability to speak and understand English.
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
