Summary
The Social Catering Sales Manager is responsible for soliciting, booking, and coordinating social event business to achieve sales goals and revenue objectives for Hotel Swexan. This role focuses primarily on weddings, celebrations, galas, milestone events, luxury social gatherings, and high-end private dining experiences. The Social Catering Sales Manager serves as the primary point of contact throughout the sales process and partners closely with operations teams to ensure all events are executed to Hotel Swexan and Harwood Hospitality luxury standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Solicit and generate new social catering business through prospecting, networking, referrals, and relationship building
- Sell and coordinate weddings, social events, celebrations, galas, showers, rehearsal dinners, welcome parties, farewell brunches, and other luxury social gatherings while maximizing overall revenue
- Conduct site tours and client meetings to showcase Hotel Swexan event spaces and guest experience offerings
- Guide clients through the planning process including menu selections, floorplans, timelines, décor, entertainment, room blocks, and overall event logistics
- Prepare and manage proposals, contracts, banquet event orders, and event detailing in accordance with departmental standards
- Communicate all pertinent event information internally with venue operations teams to ensure seamless execution
- Maintain strong client relationships while providing exceptional and timely guest service throughout the entire planning experience
- Monitor contracts, deposits, event deadlines, and overall event profitability
- Collaborate with hotel departments including catering operations, culinary, banquets, front office, and revenue management to ensure successful event execution
- Represent Hotel Swexan at networking events, industry functions, wedding showcases, and community events as appropriate
- Provide support to fellow sales team members and assist with additional projects or responsibilities as assigned
- Consistently uphold and represent the luxury standards and culture of Hotel Swexan and Harwood Hospitality
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of hospitality experience preferred
- Minimum of three years of catering, wedding, or social event sales experience required
- Luxury hotel or luxury event venue experience strongly preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple events and timelines simultaneously
- Solution-oriented mindset with strong critical thinking skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel
- Experience with Delphi or similar sales and catering systems preferred
- Ability to work varied schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs
- Excellent customer service and client relations skills
- Professional appearance, demeanor, and communication reflective of a luxury hospitality environment
