Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing safety programs to ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards. This role is critical in promoting a culture of safety and preventing workplace accidents and injuries.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety policies and programs.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of job sites.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and develop corrective actions.
- Provide safety training and education to employees.
- Maintain safety records, reports and training activities.
- Collaborate with Supervisors and Foremen to address safety concerns.
- Stay up to date on safety regulations and best practices.
- Promote a culture of safety throughout the organization.
- Conduct safety training programs specific to underground gas utility operations and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and company standards.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety or minimum of 3-5 years of experience in safety management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Proactive and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with underground gas utility construction, maintenance, and installation projects.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and industry regulations related to underground gas utility operations and excavation safety.
- Experience developing and delivering safety training for underground gas utility crews, including excavation safety, damage prevention, utility locating, confined space awareness, and emergency response procedures.
