As an Aerobics Instructor, you will lead a variety of group fitness classes that incorporate cardio, strength, flexibility, and balance training to help participants improve their overall fitness levels. Duties
- Lead high-energy group aerobics classes that include diverse routines such as dance-based workouts, Water based workouts, Pilates, yoga, CrossFit, cycling, and sports coaching sessions.
- Demonstrate proper exercise techniques and body mechanics to ensure safe and effective workouts for all participants.
- Design and adapt fitness programs tailored to different skill levels and individual needs, ensuring inclusivity and progression.
- Motivate participants through enthusiastic coaching, positive reinforcement, and clear communication to foster a supportive environment.
- Monitor participant safety during classes by applying manual handling techniques and maintaining awareness of physical limits; provide first aid or CPR if necessary.
- Conduct demonstrations and practice sessions to teach new routines or equipment usage effectively.
- Maintain excellent customer service by engaging with clients, addressing questions about exercises or health concerns, and encouraging ongoing participation.
Requirements
- Proven experience in group fitness instruction with a strong background in aerobics or related disciplines such as Water aerobics, Pilates, yoga, or Zumba.
- Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) operation is mandatory; additional certifications in First Aid are preferred.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, body mechanics, and sports coaching principles to ensure safe training practices.
- Demonstrated ability to teach exercise routines confidently while adapting to various fitness levels; experience with program design is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate diverse groups of clients effectively.
- Physical fitness training experience including heavy lifting or manual handling techniques required for demonstrating exercises safely.
- Familiarity with gym equipment operation and health club environments; experience in CrossFit or cycling classes is a plus.
- A passion for health promotion and customer service excellence within the fitness industry.
