Job Summary
RoyceCPA is looking for an advanced accounting professional to manage monthly accounting relationships for a focused group of complex construction clients. This is a full-time role with very little overtime, strong systems support, and the opportunity to own high-level accounting work.
In this role, you will manage 15-20 monthly accounting clients, primarily in the construction industry. Most client work is performed in QBO, with some compiled and reviewed financial statement work performed in CCH Engagement. You will be responsible for monthly close, client communication, TPT and payroll coordination, and SSARS engagements for a small group of clients.
Your Responsibilities
- Manage monthly accounting and client relationships.
- Close the books each month in QBO.
- Review QBO postings, reconciliations, payroll activity, TPT, and month-end workpapers.
- Ensure client books are accurate, complete, and tax-ready.
- Lead compiled and reviewed financial statement engagements under SSARS.
- Use CCH Engagement for compiled/reviewed financial statement work.
- Communicate with clients about accounting questions, missing information, payroll, TPT, and financial reporting.
- Supervise or coordinate with an assistant for routine QBO postings and document follow-up.
- Identify process improvements and help maintain client-specific procedures.
What We're Looking For
- Strong QuickBooks Online experience.
- Construction accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP.
- Experience with SSARS engagements, including compilations and reviews.
- Ability to manage client relationships directly.
- Strong month-end close and reconciliation skills.
- Ability to review work, not just prepare it.
- Clear, professional client communication.
- CPA or CPA Candidate required.
Who Thrives Here
This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys owning client relationships, creating clean accounting files, solving messy construction accounting issues, and communicating clearly with business owners. The right person is steady, organized, proactive, and comfortable being the accounting lead for clients who need more than basic bookkeeping.
Who This Is Not For
This role is not a good fit for someone looking for basic bookkeeping only, someone uncomfortable with client communication, or someone who needs extensive direction on month-end close, GAAP, or financial statement work.
Benefits/Work Environment
- Full-time position with no overtime expectation.
- 40-hour workweek.
- 3% retirement match.
- QSEHRA health reimbursement arrangement.
- Paid time off.
- Professional development support.
- Collaborative CPA firm environment.
- Opportunity to work with a focused client base instead of constantly switching between unrelated work.
- Hybrid and remote working arrangements.
