Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Mental Health Therapist to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to inform treatment planning.
- Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and behavioral therapy.
- Provide individual, group, family, and child/youth counseling sessions to address issues such as grief, trauma, developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, PTSD, addiction, gender issues, and chronic pain.
- Utilize crisis intervention techniques to manage acute mental health emergencies effectively while ensuring client safety and stability.
- Document all clinical encounters accurately in electronic health records (EHR/EMR) following clinical documentation standards and HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, medical professionals, educators, and case managers to coordinate comprehensive care plans.
- Engage in ongoing research and professional development to stay current with best practices in mental health treatment and ICD coding updates.
Experience
- Proven experience working with children, adolescents, or adults in outpatient or inpatient settings within behavioral health or clinical counseling environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance/movement therapy, or applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Experience working with individuals with co-occurring disorders—including mental health conditions coupled with substance use or developmental disabilities—is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with telehealth therapy platforms and delivering services remotely while maintaining clinical ethical guidelines under HIPAA compliance.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to mental health diagnoses and familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding for accurate documentation and billing purposes.
- Background in crisis management and crisis intervention techniques within inpatient or outpatient settings is preferred.
- Ability to perform comprehensive mental health assessments and treatment planning aligned with clinical documentation standards.
