New York Forwarding Services (NYFS) is a Foreign Military Sales Freight Forwarding business specializing receiving, storing, exporting both Hazardous and Non-Hazardous requirements for both classified and unclassified customer requirements. NYFS processes, ships customer export requirements that ship to from government depots and/or vendors
NYFS is looking for an energetic individual to join our talented team who would be a single point of contact for export shipments, relying on your deep understanding of global end to end supply chain operations. Our ideal candidate should possess strong skills, experience and knowledge of export operations, US customs requirements, Automated Export System (AES), Hazardous Material Handling and shipping (certification a plus), inland freight rate negotiations, Other important skills, good written and spoken communication skills, exceptional ability to problem solve issues as they arise quickly, work independently as well as part of a team, and possess a high attention to detail, facilitate work in a timely and cost effective manner. Customer service excellence attitude.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all aspects of the export process, including preparing export documentation, managing AES, ocean lines booking, communication with customer, customs, customs broker, carrier, and NYFS warehouse, handle discrepancies through effective problem solving, shipment of material in system of record, data entry, gather of inland carrier rates, produce shipment paperwork for port, customer and internal finance for billing .
- Ensure all client special instructions are followed.
- Effectively communicate with customs for clearance.
- Detect potential paperwork discrepancies and communicate with customer and internal
- Ensuring adherence to government regulations
-Maintain effective business and working relationships with customers, customs broker, carriers and team members to ensure proper handling of customer requirements.
- Follow-up in a timely manner to any export issue as they arise.
- Track export shipments until they are received at the final port destination
- Provide customers both internal and external detailed export reports.
- Have a continuous improvement mentality to improve the export work instructions, training manual and systematic processes for improved efficiency through the reduction of touches and human error.
-Ability to problem solve issues quickly, efficiently and effectively as they arise with sometimes limited information or data.
-Knowledge of inland trucking processes and procedures
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-5 years of related Export experience
- Knowledge of customs process a plus
- Knowledge of Government Export Policies
- Knowledge of acquiring inland transportation rates
- Hazardous Material Regulations and related documentation a plus, must be certified within six months after hire date
- Strong Interpersonal and Communication Skills, both written and verbal
- Attention to Detail
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Strong PC Skills to include Microsoft Suite and Warehouse Management
- Strong customer service orientation

This is a direct hire opportunity and the salary is based on experience.

- Prior Military or DoD Civilian Foreign Military Sales Experience a Plus
- Secret Security Clearance a Plus
Pay: Pay Rate based on experience
Ability to Relocate:
No relocation fees available, must live and have the ability to commute to Wilmington, NC 28412
