We are looking to add a PET/CT Technologist to our AMAZING mobile team!
The PET/CT Technologist operates PET/CT scanners. The responsibilities include following physicians' instructions and protocols, explaining the PET/CT procedure to patients, selecting software options and imaging parameters on the scanner, viewing images from the imaging station, and keeping records of reports.
To be a successful PET/CT Technologist, you should have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be sensitive to the needs of the patients. You should show attention to detail and be able to work as a team.
Schedule: We operate seven days a week
Mobile Environment: Metro Detroit Area
PET/CT Technologist Responsibilities:
o Explaining the PET/CT process to patients and ensuring the patients comply with all safety standards.
o Positioning patients to capture clear images of the correct area of the body.
o Placing and then removing IVs and catheters for the PET/CT process.
o Maneuvering the PET/CT equipment and positioning it to capture the correct images.
o Monitoring patients during uptake and scanning, as well as, maintaining patients' records.
o Practices radiation safety/regulations, including proper documentation and technique when working with radioactive materials/patients.
o Monitoring PET/CT equipment functions and troubleshooting when necessary.
o Ensuring clear images for Radiologists to provide accurate diagnoses.
o Recognizing movement or abnormalities in images and reimaging if necessary.
o Attention to detail, mathematical skills, and technical skills.
o Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
o Time-management and organizational skills
o Work is generally performed while standing or sitting, in a mobile environment. Ability to lift up to 40 lb. weight load, with frequent bending, lifting, pushing, and/or pulling of various weights.
o Must be willing to travel to different host sites and interact with Radiologist, Department Mangers, other clinical support personnel, as well as fellow coworkers.
o Ability to employ discretion and maintain confidentiality.
o Ability to prioritize assignments and work independently.
o Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers.
o Ability to use Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
o Ability to understand and correctly execute verbal and written instructions.
o Other duties as assigned
PET/CT Technologist Requirements:
· Board certification from NMTCB or ARRT(NM)
· Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience with a certificate for completion of accredited Nuclear Medicine Program.
· Experience with PET/CT equipment and patient care
