Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that incorporate early literacy, math, and physical education areas.
- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere through effective classroom management and behavior management strategies that encourage cooperation and respect.
- Plan engaging lesson plans tailored to the developmental stages of toddlers and preschoolers, integrating activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children’s progress, milestones, and any concerns related to child welfare or development.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed by maintaining compliance with mandated reporting laws, first aid and CPR certifications, and health standards.
- Support children with special education needs or those requiring early intervention services by adapting activities to meet individual learning goals.
- Maintain detailed records of classroom activities, assessments and child development progress to inform instruction and report outcomes effectively.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in early childhood settings such as child care, preschool, or private schools. Will train if needed.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, curriculum development, classroom management techniques, and behavior management strategies.
- Experience teaching physical education, literacy education, and math concepts.
- Excellent communication skills for parent engagement and team collaboration.
- Certification in first aid and CPR; knowledge of mandated reporting laws is essential.
- Ability to create inclusive learning environments that support children with diverse needs including special education or early intervention requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to plan lessons effectively using child development instruction techniques while fostering a nurturing environment conducive to learning.
