About the Role
A Pasadena-based private equity firm with a portfolio that includes commercial real estate is hiring a full-time Finance and Accounting Manager. The role is primarily focused on accounting and reporting for assigned entities but will also include a secondary property management component for the firm’s commercial buildings. The position reports to the Corporate Controller.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting and Finance
- Complete journal entries for various business checking accounts on a daily basis.
- Prepare financial reporting for assigned entities, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
- Explain variances for the current period versus prior periods and budget.
- Process expense reports and reimbursements in a timely and accurate manner.
- Serve as the liaison with third-party payroll services, including reporting of hours, wages, and fringe benefits.
- Prepare annual budgets for assigned entities and assist with forecasting.
- Reconcile accounts for consolidated entities and support month-end and year-end close.
- Perform other accounting-related tasks as needed.
Commercial Property Management
- Monitor property-level budgets and flag material variances to the Controller
- Maintain organized property files (leases, contracts, insurance certificates) and serve as the primary point of contact for ad hoc property matters, including lease renewals and negotiations
- Process and code vendor invoices for property-related expenses and ensure timely payment.
- Maintain vendor relationships and oversee contract renewals and certificates of insurance.
- Note: the expectation is that these property management responsibilities will gradually be shifted over to another member of the team (over course of 12-18 months) and the Finance Manager role will become entirely focused on the Accounting and Finance duties described above.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Previous accounting experience required; exposure to commercial real estate or property-level accounting is a plus.
- Working knowledge of GAAP reporting.
- Strong computer skills; experience with Sage or other bookkeeping software is a plus.
- Able to work 40 hours per week and commute to our Pasadena, CA office. This position is on-site; we do not offer remote work.

Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary, commensurate with experience. Range is $110,000 – 125,000.
