Position Overview: Shen Milsom & Wilke is pleased to announce an opportunity for a dedicated and results-oriented Audiovisual Design Consultant to join our dynamic team in our Houston, TX office. In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering integrated design solutions that enhance user experiences across various projects. You will collaborate with our team of AV, Security, IT, Medical Equipment Planning, and Acoustical engineers to deliver client-focused consultancy services in conceptual designs for audiovisual and multimedia control systems. Your expertise will directly contribute to our mission of pushing the boundaries of possibilities.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients to understand their design needs and objectives.
- Develop innovative design concepts for audiovisual and multimedia projects.
- Create detailed design documentation and specifications.
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies.
- Coordinate with architects and engineers to ensure design integration.
- Project responsibility through all phases of design and coordination from budgets, conceptual/schematic design, through construction Documents.
- Oversee all aspects of digital networks, including audio, video, control, voice, data, and security systems.
- Assist with system testing, commissioning, punch list activities, and project closeout.
- High level of proven communications capability to manage client relationships, project team coordination, and design team project management.
- Create audiovisual systems specifications outlining functional requirements for all audio, video, and control systems in each area and equipment lists as appropriate.
- Maintain awareness of assigned project scope, schedule, deliverables, and design hours and communicate potential issues or changes to project leadership.
- Maintain accurate and timely project documentation, time entries, project information, and other administrative requirements.
- Stay updated on industry trends and technologies to inform design decisions.
- Provide ongoing support throughout project implementation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Architecture, engineering, audiovisual technology, or a related field or years of equivalent work experience.
- Approximately 1+ years of relevant experience in audiovisual consulting, system design, integration, engineering, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of audiovisual/multimedia systems and technologies.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
- Functional knowledge of Bluebeam PDF software preferred.
- Familiarity with project management principles is a plus.
