Position Summary
The Clinical Unit Educator is responsible and accountable for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the educational activities for the nursing staff on the unit in order to maintain quality care for the unit specific patient population. Employees are encouraged to support Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System’s involvement in the community we serve. Responsible for requesting IT access for operational systems required of job for new and existing employees.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Graduate of approved nursing program, BSN or actively pursuing without interruption within 2 years
Experience
- Exhibits basic computer knowledge
License/Registration/Certifications
- Current license of work permit to practice nursing in South Carolina
- BLS, ACLS, PALS/ENPC, TNCC. Maintains BLS instructor status

Core Job Responsibilities
Coordinate orientation and onboarding for all department clinical staff- Schedule all required training for clinical staff
- Conduct continuing education and staff development
- Coordination of nursing students, paramedic students and shadowing experiences in the department
- Serve on hospital-wide committees
- Administer annual competencies for all clinical staff
- Maintain employee files and assist in ensuring department is in compliance with all regulatory bodies
- Participate in quality initiatives to improve patient care
- Other Duties as Assigned
