About IntellaKids
IntellaKids is a private early childhood education company in Houston specializing in one-on-one, in-home learning for young children, primarily ages 2.5–6.
We believe young children learn best when someone takes the time to truly know them. Our sessions combine early academics, problem solving, language, social-emotional development and play, all based on the individual child.
We are growing our Houston teaching team and looking for a wonderful educator who genuinely loves working with young children.
Who We’re Looking For
The right person for IntellaKids is warm, patient, dependable and professional.
You don’t need to know our teaching method already. We provide hands-on training, materials and ongoing support. What matters most is that you naturally connect with children and are willing to learn.
You may be a great fit if you:
● Genuinely enjoy working with children ages 2–6
● Have a background in education, early childhood education, child development, tutoring, nannying, or another child-focused field
● Are patient, kind and comfortable following a child’s individual pace
● Are reliable and communicate professionally
● Are flexible and able to adjust when a child needs a different approach
● Are comfortable working independently in families’ homes
● Are interested in learning and growing as an educator
● Have reliable transportation and are comfortable driving between families in Houston
A degree in education or a related field is preferred, but strong professional experience working with young children will also be considered.
Schedule
This is a part-time position with weekday afternoon availability especially important.
Most sessions take place after school and are approximately 45 minutes long.
We are especially interested in someone who can consistently work several afternoons per week and is looking for an ongoing position rather than temporary work.
What You’ll Do
You will work one-on-one with young children in their homes using IntellaKids activities, materials and individualized learning plans.
You will:
● Build a warm and trusting relationship with each child
● Teach through play and developmentally appropriate activities
● Work on early literacy, math, handwriting, problem solving and social-emotional skills
● Adapt sessions to each child’s personality, interests and developmental needs
● Communicate professionally with the IntellaKids team
● Receive ongoing guidance, feedback and support

We provide training and teaching materials, and there is room to take on additional students and grow with IntellaKids over time.
