Liberal Public Schools is seeking a collaborative, student-centered Interventionist to join our team. We are looking for an innovative educator who is passionate about accelerating student achievement by providing targeted, research-based instruction and working collaboratively with classroom teachers to ensure every student reaches their full academic potential.
The Interventionist provides differentiated, evidence-based instruction to students who require additional academic support beyond core classroom instruction. Working closely with teachers, administrators, and intervention teams, the successful candidate will identify student needs, implement targeted interventions, monitor student progress, and help develop instructional strategies that improve student outcomes while fostering confidence and academic success.

Essential Responsibilities:

Provide differentiated, research-based academic interventions to individual students and small groups based on identified learning needs.

Deliver targeted instruction designed to supplement, not replace, Tier 1 classroom instruction.

Collaborate closely with classroom teachers to align intervention strategies with district curriculum and classroom learning objectives.

Utilize assessment data to identify student needs, develop intervention plans, and monitor student progress.

Maintain accurate documentation of intervention services, student progress monitoring, and instructional outcomes.

Participate in Student Intervention Team (SIT), MTSS, and other problem-solving meetings to develop and implement effective intervention plans.

Assist classroom teachers in selecting instructional strategies and interventions that support student achievement.

Foster positive relationships with students, families, teachers, and staff while encouraging student confidence and academic growth.

Utilize instructional technology and evidence-based practices to maximize student learning.

Collaborate with special education staff, instructional coaches, administrators, and other support personnel to ensure coordinated services for students.

Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), faculty meetings, district professional development, and school improvement initiatives.

Maintain confidentiality while implementing district policies and supporting the educational mission of Liberal Public Schools.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Building Principal or Superintendent.
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.

Valid Kansas Teaching License with appropriate endorsement.

Demonstrated successful classroom teaching experience or student teaching experience.

Knowledge of effective instructional practices, intervention strategies, progress monitoring, and data-driven instruction.

Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
-
Commitment to providing equitable, student-centered educational opportunities.
-
Previous experience serving as an interventionist, instructional coach, or classroom teacher.

Knowledge of MTSS, Response to Intervention (RTI), and Student Intervention Team (SIT) processes.

Experience analyzing student assessment data to inform instruction.

Experience providing reading and/or mathematics interventions.

ESOL endorsement preferred (Kansas ESOL-licensed employees are eligible for a $500 annual stipend).

Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse learners.

Work is performed primarily in classrooms and school settings with frequent collaboration among teachers, administrators, students, and families. The work environment typically includes a moderate noise level and may involve travel between district buildings.
Salary, benefits, and work calendar are established in accordance with the negotiated Professional Agreement and approved by the USD 480 Board of Education.
