Job Title: Real Estate Closer
The Real Estate Loan Closer is responsible for processing, preparing, closing, funding, and booking consumer and commercial real estate loans while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion. This role requires independent judgment, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple transactions while ensuring compliance with internal policies and applicable state and federal regulations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and process loan documentation for various types of commercial and consumer real estate loans.
- Order and review title commitments, title searches, appraisals, surveys, and flood certifications.
- Communicate and coordinate with lenders, title companies, and customers throughout the loan process to facilitate timely loan closings.
- Review loan files for completeness, accuracy, compliance, and lien perfection.
- Identify and resolve documentation, title or closing issues in a timely manner.
- Prepare closing instructions and coordinate all aspects of loan closings.
- Fund and book loans into the Silverlake system.
- Process renewal and modification loan documentation requests as needed.
- Review and index Synergy batches for new, renewed and modified loans.
- Provide loan status updates and support through phone and email communication to all parties throughout the closing process.
- Review loan files for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with bank policy and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
- 2–4 years of related lending, loan processing, or loan closing experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience reviewing title commitments and surveys.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, professionalism, and maintain a high level of integrity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of consumer and commercial real estate lending practices and legal documentation.
- Experience with TRID disclosures and processing.
- Knowledge of HELOC processing and servicing.
- Experience reviewing entity/organizational documents to validate borrower authority and structure.
