Job Summary
Looking for CDL Class A owner operators/drivers with TWIC and truck owners/small fleet owners to hire qualified drivers under their trucks. We haul 20' and 40' ocean containers from port of Norfolk, VA live load/unload and drop/hook. Drivers should be willing to work a Mon-Fri schedule, daily regional runs (250 mile radius of port), 1-2 loads a day. Weekend work optional when available. Longer lanes . $4,000 average gross to the truck weekly, paid weekly. $5000+ potential with long hauls. Must run under our authority. Driver referral bonus, truck insurance, and tag program available

Duties
- Safely operate CDL Class A tractor-trailers across designated routes, including port terminals and distribution centers
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring cargo integrity
- Drive different types of trailers including refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, dump trucks, and freight carriers as required
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT regulations
- Manage route driving efficiently to meet delivery schedules while adhering to all safety protocols
- Secure cargo properly for transport, especially when handling sensitive or hazardous materials like refrigerated or tanker loads
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance records
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record
- TWIC certification for secure access to port facilities
- Experience driving manual transmission trucks preferred but not required
- Proven truck driving experience with a focus on freight delivery and route management
- Ability to operate specialized equipment such as forklifts or dump trucks is a plus
- Knowledge of safety standards related to trucking, cargo handling, and port operations
- Flexibility to handle various trailer types including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and roll-off trucks
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with dispatchers and warehouse teams
