Position Summary
The Sand Pile Truck Offload Operator is responsible for safely receiving, offloading, and staging sand delivered by haul trucks. This role ensures proper material placement, maintains worksite cleanliness, and follows all safety procedures to support efficient site operations.
Key Responsibilities
Material Offloading & Handling
- Direct incoming haul trucks to the correct unloading area.
- Safely oversee and assist with the offloading of sand onto designated piles.
- Monitor sand quality and report any contamination or inconsistencies.
- Use equipment such as loaders, skid steers, or conveyors (if applicable) to move or shape sand piles.
Equipment Operation
- Operate machinery required for sand pile management (e.g., front-end loaders, bulldozers, compactors).
- Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections on all assigned equipment.
- Report maintenance issues or hazards immediately.
Safety & Compliance
- Maintain compliance with company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Ensure proper traffic flow in the offloading area and enforce safety rules with drivers.
- Wear required PPE at all times and promote a safety-first culture.
Site Maintenance
- Keep the offloading area free from hazards, debris, and obstructions.
- Maintain orderly and clearly separated sand piles.
- Assist with daily housekeeping tasks to support efficient site operations.
Documentation & Communication
- Record incoming loads, truck information, and material quantities when required.
- Communicate with dispatch, supervisors, and truck drivers to coordinate deliveries.
- Report delays, hazards, or operational issues promptly.
Qualifications
Required
- Experience in material handling or construction operations.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment (or willingness to be trained).
- Strong safety awareness and understanding of worksite procedures.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to perform physical labor.
- must have safe land/pec/h2s training
Preferred
- Previous experience with sand or aggregate offloading.
- Valid equipment operator certifications.
- CDL (optional depending on employer needs).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, or remain on equipment for extended periods.
- Lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Work in dusty, loud, or high-traffic environments.
Work Schedule
- Typical schedule: 80+ hours weekly
- Overtime, weekends, or shift work may be required depending on production needs.
