Mount Shasta's Best Western Plus Tree House is seeking a passionate and energetic individual to join our culinary team as a cook. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the food service operations of our hotel, ensuring guests enjoy delicious, safe, and well-prepared meals. Duties
- Assist in menu planning and meal preparation to meet guest expectations and dietary needs
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Ensure food handling practices adhere strictly to safety standards and food safety management protocols
- Support food service operations by serving meals efficiently and courteously to guests
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, following safety standards in production
- Help with catering events by preparing ingredients and assisting with large-scale meal assembly
- Follow all food safety regulations during food handling, storage, and preparation processes
Experience
- Previous cook experience preferred
- Experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of kitchen safety standards, food handling procedures, and food industry best practices required
- Skills in menu planning, meal preparation, and food service operations are a plus
- Familiarity with culinary techniques such as slicing, knife skills, and food safety management is essential
- Prior experience in catering or serving roles will be advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced settings while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
