Local wholesale lumber distribution company seeking a qualified forklift operator who is energetic, hardworking and dependable with 1-2 years' experience pulling orders and/or loading trucks. Experience working with Engineered Wood building materials a plus. This individual will be responsible to quickly and accurately cut/pull customer orders for shipment, verify the accuracy of the batches and paperwork, load and unload trucks (by forklift) and assist in maintaining inventory accuracy. Additionally, all material handlers are responsible for keeping the yard, warehouses and their assigned work areas safe and clean.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operates forklift in compliance with the Forklift training and safety guidelines.
- Prepare the paperwork required for distribution and shipping of products.
- Cut products and prepare for shipment and delivery.
- Load all product onto trucks for delivery.
- Receive goods into inventory -- place product in appropriate stock location.
- Maintains cleanliness and tidiness in working and assigned area.
- Assists in periodic inventory counts as requested.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- High school diploma (GED) preferred.
- No experience necessary - On the job training
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Read, write and understand the English language.
- Work independently at times under pressure.
- Sense of urgency; meeting of deadlines
- Must be detail oriented and organized.
