Our employer is seeking a dynamic and visionary fundraising leader to serve as Senior Director of Philanthropy (SDP). This individual will be responsible for designing, building, and leading a comprehensive advancement program in a designated market (South County) that will sustain and expand the organization’s mission for decades to come.
Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President of Philanthropy, the SDP will lead all fundraising and philanthropic initiatives for the organization in their market, including major gifts, capital campaigns, foundation relations, stewardship, and planned giving. This leader will be responsible for helping to develop the strategy necessary to significantly grow private philanthropy in their market.
The SDP will serve as a key member of the philanthropic leadership team and will partner closely with the Advisory Board of Directors, senior staff, and community leaders to secure transformational philanthropic investments supporting youth development, academic success, workforce readiness, and new Club facilities.

About the Role
As Senior Director of Philanthropy, you will play a key leadership role in advancing transformational capital and endowment campaigns for new Club construction and educational programming in your market while engaging visionary donors, securing significant philanthropic investments, and helping bring to life a space that will serve the community for generations to come. Through strategic outreach and compelling storytelling, you will build momentum and inspire support for the growth.
In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to both new and existing donors. You will cultivate and steward meaningful, long-term relationships with families, individuals, private foundations, and corporate partners, guiding them in aligning their philanthropic vision with the Club’s mission and impact.

Key Responsibilities
Relationship Management
- Bring deep expertise in fundraising and philanthropic advising, including demonstrated success supporting and advancing capital campaigns in the key leadership role.
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of established donors in your market.
- Identify, cultivate, and solicit new donors whose charitable giving goals align with the Club's goals.
- Build trust and long-term partnerships with professional advisors such as trust and estate attorneys whose clients' philanthropic goals align with the Club’s program priorities.
- Partner with Program Officers to solicit & implement tailored philanthropic strategies that maximize impact for programs within the Clubs.
- Deliver presentations to donors and community stakeholders who support the Club to maximize stewardship.
Community Leadership & Visibility
- Representing the company at community gatherings, galas, and professional advisor networks.
- Strengthen the company's role as a leader in local philanthropy.
Legacy & Estate Planning
- Have basic knowledge in order to partner with families to integrate the company into their estate and legacy plans, ensuring continuity of their charitable vision.
- Engage legacy donors in annual events to maintain meaningful relationships.
- Prepare clear, compelling proposals and reports that demonstrate impact and reinforce the Club’s role as a trusted philanthropic partner.
Collaboration & Growth
- Work closely with internal development (Grants and Special Events), Marketing, and Impact teams to maximize donor stewardship and giving.
- Work closely with the EVP of Philanthropy & CEO on engaging the Advisory Board members to maximize donor engagement and impact in your market.
Qualifications
- Must currently reside in the Palm Beach County metro area, with preference given to Boca Raton and Delray Beach area
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum five years of experience in fundraising, donor/family relations or business development.
- Proven success working with high-net-worth individuals and professional advisors.
- Experience with basic estate planning and legacy giving strategies and societies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.
- Proficiency with Microsoft, Adobe, Excel, and donor research tools
