Responsibilities
- Provide supportive services to inmates by employing motivational interviewing techniques to encourage positive behavior change
- Supervise inmate activities, ensuring safety and adherence to facility rules
- Assist law enforcement personnel with security procedures and inmate management strategies
- Manage conflict situations through effective conflict resolution and de-escalation methods
- Conduct case management activities, including assessing inmate needs and coordinating appropriate services or interventions
- Monitor security protocols, including surveillance and access control, to maintain facility safety
- Document incidents, inmate progress, and service delivery accurately and thoroughly in records
- Support the training of staff on best practices for supervision, conflict management, and social work principles
Experience
- Proven supervising experience in correctional facilities, law enforcement, or related settings
- Background in social work, security, military service, or law enforcement preferred
- Familiarity with motivational interviewing techniques and case management practices
- Experience managing conflicts effectively within high-stress environments
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and community partners
- Prior experience in security or law enforcement roles that involve inmate or detainee supervision is highly desirable
