Job Summary
We're looking for a dependable, hard-working Laborer to join our residential building crew. You'll be on-site every day helping carpenters, framers, and trade partners move projects forward, from new home builds to remodels and additions. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in showing up on time, working safely, and learning the trade. There's room to grow into a skilled carpentry or lead position for the right person.
Duties
- Load, unload, and move building materials, tools, and equipment around the job site
- Assist carpenters and tradespeople with framing, sheathing, siding, decking, and interior finish work
- Operate hand tools and basic power tools (circular saws, drills, nail guns, etc.) safely and accurately
- Dig footings, backfill, and help with site prep, grading, and drainage as needed
- Demolition work on remodels: tear-out of drywall, flooring, cabinetry, fixtures, and framing
- Keep the job site clean, organized, and safe throughout the day — sweep, haul debris, stage materials
- Set up and break down scaffolding, ladders, fall protection, and temporary barriers
- Load and operate dumpsters, wheelbarrows, and small equipment
- Follow all OSHA safety standards and company safety policies, including proper PPE use
- Communicate clearly with the foreman and crew about progress, material needs, and any safety concerns
Experience
- 1+ years of construction experience preferred (residential a plus); we'll train the right candidate with a strong work ethic
- Comfortable with the physical demands: lifting 50+ lbs repeatedly, climbing ladders, working on roofs and scaffolding, standing all day
- Able to work outdoors in all weather — heat, cold, rain
- Basic familiarity with hand and power tools
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
- Shows up on time, every day, ready to work
- Takes direction well and works as part of a team
- Basic English communication (bilingual English/Spanish a plus)
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Nice to Have
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Experience with framing, roofing, or finish carpentry
- Forklift, skid steer, or other small equipment experience
- Own basic hand tools and tool belt
