We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of food safety and handling practices. As a Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently, assisting in the preparation of high-quality meals for our guests.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring food items.
- Follow recipes and instructions from the head chef to ensure consistency and quality in food preparation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items.
- Adhere to food safety standards and regulations to ensure safe handling of all ingredients.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as knives, mixers, and ovens safely and effectively.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods.
- Assist with catering events as needed, providing support in food preparation and presentation.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or catering is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of culinary techniques and food preparation methods.
- Familiarity with food safety practices and proper food handling procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Must be able to stand for long periods and lift heavy items as required.
