Starting salary: $56,238.73 - $78,863.27 ($27.0379 - $37.9150)

As part of the interview process a hands-on skills test may be utilized. There will be one test in each of the following categories: basic electrical, basic welding, scanner diagnostics using either Snap on or Cummins electronic tool. The test will be in a shop setting. Proper attire for work in a typical shop setting is recommended and all needed tools/supplies are provided. Max time is one (1) hour. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Essential Job Functions The job functions listed herein are neither exclusive nor exhaustive, but are intended to be illustrative of the types of tasks the employee will most likely be expected to perform on a regular basis. The employee may be asked to perform different or additional tasks than the ones listed here, as the needs of the employer and/or the requirements of the position change.
1. Diagnoses malfunctions and makes repairs and adjustments to all equipment to keep it in good operating condition.
2. Performs maintenance and repairs to all systems on automobiles, trucks and equipment owned by the City.
3. Performs preventative maintenance on City-owned automobiles, trucks and equipment to insure proper care and servicing.
4. Performs arc and gas welding or cutting for maintenance, repair and construction of City equipment.
5. Repairs, sharpens and tempers tools.
6. Devises fixtures to facilitate repair work.
7. Maintains records and makes reports as required.
8. Orders all necessary parts for repair and maintenance work.
9. Assists in snow removal operations.
