Overview
TWIC preferred and FULL 4 years of documented experience required. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating various types of trucks, including refrigerated trailers, dump trucks, flatbeds and most importantly containers. This role is essential for transporting containers safely and efficiently across designated routes while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies.
About
We are seeking a driver to pick up pre loaded containers in Atlanta area and deliver them to the port of Savannah. Ideally you should be able to get reloaded and return the same day. Around 500-550 miles a day. Also occasional local Dry Van work. TWIC Required and 4 years of documented experience required.
Duties
- Operate and drive commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, to transport freight to various locations.
- Load and unload cargo as necessary, ensuring proper handling of materials.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and other relevant documentation.
- Follow designated routes while adhering to traffic laws and regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered on the road.
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the truck inside and out.
Experience
- Proven experience in truck driving with a valid commercial driver's license (CDL).
- Familiarity with operating refrigerated trailers, dump trucks, flatbeds, and other types of commercial vehicles.
- Experience in route driving with a strong understanding of navigation systems.
- Ability to load and unload freight safely and efficiently.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with dispatchers and clients.
- A commitment to safety practices while on the road.
