New Spirit Recovery is seeking a motivated Associate Marriage & Family Therapist (AMFT) or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) to join our residential withdrawal management and substance use disorder treatment program.
We are looking for a clinician who is passionate about helping others, takes initiative, and wants to make a meaningful impact—not someone who simply checks boxes or completes the minimum requirements.

Primary Responsibilities
- Provide individual therapy for assigned clients.
- Facilitate psychoeducational and process groups.
- Complete biopsychosocial assessments (BPS), treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Complete intake and admission documentation.
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings.
- Provide crisis intervention and clinical support when needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing, case management, utilization review, and support staff.
- Maintain timely, accurate, and insurance-compliant clinical documentation.
QualificationsRequired
- Active California AMFT or APCC registration.
- Master's degree in a behavioral health field.
- Experience working with substance use disorders and/or co-occurring mental health disorders.
- Strong clinical documentation and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and professionalism.
Preferred
Experience or knowledge of:
- Residential treatment
- Withdrawal management (Detox)
- ASAM Criteria
- DHCS regulations
- Joint Commission (TJC) standards
- Commercial insurance documentation
- Kipu Electronic Health Record

Schedule
Although this is not an on-call position, our clinicians are expected to be flexible and available to support the treatment team during significant clinical situations or emergencies when therapist involvement is necessary.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
