Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this vital role, you will provide personalized care and support to individuals with disabilities, helping them achieve greater independence and quality of life. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve while working in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Duties
- Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance using manual handling equipment such as Hoyer lifts.
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes to healthcare professionals.
- Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines to ensure safety and compliance.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with cooking to meet dietary needs and preferences.
- Maintain clean living environments by performing regular cleaning tasks in accordance with health standards.
- Document care plans, patient progress, and incident reports accurately while respecting privacy regulations like HIPAA.
- Engage residents in social activities, community outings, and therapeutic programs tailored to their interests and abilities.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in group homes or assisted living facilities is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer’s care), memory care, and autism support is advantageous.
- Experience with patient monitoring tools such as Hoyer lifts, vital signs measurement, and medication administration is desirable.
- Strong skills in caregiving for individuals with developmental disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with manual handling tasks.
- Certifications in CPR, first aid, and safe patient handling are a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with a compassionate approach to supporting individuals’ needs.

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
